ITD & Virtech participated in the DRG4FOOD & FOODITY Final Conference taking place on 22-23 October in Brussels, Belgium. The conference takes place on 22–23 October 2025 at La Tricoterie in Brussels, Belgium.

These two EU-funded projects have worked over recent years to build trustworthy, citizen-centric digital food and nutrition systems, emphasising data sovereignty, transparency and responsibility.

Day 1 (afternoon of 22 Oct) is oriented around innovation in action — with pitches by winners of open calls (10 academic groups/start-ups/SMEs) in areas such as food tracking, targeted nutrition and consumer food-choice technology.

Day 2 (morning of 23 Oct) delves into insights and future directions: discussions on technological disruption, declining trust, presentation of the “Digital Responsibility Goals (DRGs)”, map & gap analyses, foresight outputs and a policy roadmap.

The conference aims to be an open platform for stakeholders — policymakers, innovators, researchers, SMEs, NGOs — to connect, reflect, celebrate the funded work (~€3.9 m of innovation) and co-chart next steps for digital food systems that are ethical, inclusive and trustworthy.

In short: it’s the crescendo of the DRG4FOOD & FOODITY journey — showcasing achieved solutions, sharing learnings and mobilising for the next phase of responsible food-&-data innovation.
